  8. Note:     The term "vendor" is used to refer to any person, company or group
  9.           distributing the evaluation version of My Little Realm's DizzE
  10.           program by any means for profit or for any other purpose.
  11.  
  12.           The distribution license agreements are immediately below.  
  13.  
  14.           The required contents of the distribution disk and the BBS ZIP 
  15.           file are the same and are listed in the Limited Distribution 
  16.           License section below (about line 45).  The .ZIP file ID is 
  17.           MLRDIZ10.ZIP.
  18.  
  19.           You'll find my name, address and phone number, along with 
  20.           descriptions of DizzE, at the end of this document.
  21.  
  22.           The registration price is $10 (USA).  The benefits are listed at
  23.           the end of this document near the descriptions.  Possible product 
  24.           categories would be Shareware Program Development, Professional 
  25.           Tools and Utilities.

  28.                          Distribution Requirements

  31. Limited Distribution License:

  34. As the exclusive copyright holder for My Little Realm's DizzE program, 
  35. John L. Salisbury (also called the author) authorizes distribution only in 
  36. accordance with the following restrictions:
  37.  
  38.   o  ASP Vendors in good standing are hereby granted permission to 
  39.      distribute the DizzE package.  Non-ASP member vendors must request 
  40.      permission prior to distributing this package.
  41.  
  42.   o  The DizzE package - including all related program files and 
  43.      documentation files - cannot be modified in any way and must be 
  44.      distributed as a complete package, without exception.  
  45.  
  46.      For disk vendors and BBS Sysops, the required contents are:
  47.  
  48.           _____  README.TXT        Lists files on distribution disk
  49.           _____  VENDOR.TXT        Contains all vendor information
  50.           _____  DIZZE.EXE         The program's executable file
  51.           _____  DIZZE.TXT         The program's documentation file
  52.           _____  REGISTER.TXT      Program's order form
  53.           _____  FILE_ID.DIZ       Description file for BBS operators
  54.  
  55.   o  No disk vendor may place other authors' works on the DizzE disk.
  56.      Small additions to the package, such as the introductory or installation 
  57.      batch files used by many shareware disk vendors, are acceptable.
  58.  
  59.   o  No price or other compensation may be charged by any vendor for the 
  60.      DizzE software package.  Vendors may charge their standard fees 
  61.      for the materials and services they provide.

  64. Disk Sets & CD-ROMs:

  66. The DizzE package cannot be sold as part of some other inclusive 
  67. package.  Nor can it be included in any commercial software packaging offer 
  68. without a written agreement from John L.Salisbury.
  69.  
  70. ASP Approved Vendors who wish to distribute the DizzE package as part 
  71. of a collection (such as PsL's MegaDisk set, or a CD-ROM package) may do so 
  72. provided that all the other restrictions are met.
  73.  
  74. Non-ASP Member Vendors who wish to distribute the DizzE package as 
  75. part of a collection (such as PsL's MegaDisk set, or a CD-ROM package) must 
  76. obtain permission from the author prior to beginning such a distribution.

  78. Disk-of-the-Month (or Subscription) Distribution:
  79. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
  80. If you would like to distribute the DizzE package as a Disk-of-
  81. the-Month, or as part of a subscription or monthly service, then the
  82. following restrictions apply:

  84.   o  ASP Associate (Disk Vendor) Members in good standing are hereby 
  85.      given permission to distribute the DizzE package under the 
  86.      Disk-of-the-Month style of distribution.
  87.  
  88.   o  Non-ASP Vendors must contact the author in advance to ensure that 
  89.      they have the most current version of the software.
  90.  
  91.   o  Vendors (ASP and non-ASP Members) cannot use a Disk-of-the-Month 
  92.      distribution to use up their inventory of old (out of date) disks.  
  93.      Only current versions of the DizzE package may be shipped 
  94.      as Disk-of-the-Month disks.
  95.  
  96.   o  A printed copy of the online documentation may not be reproduced 
  97.      in whole or in part, using any means, without the written permission 
  98.      of the author.  
  99.  
  100.   o  The DizzE package cannot be rented or leased to others.
  101.  
  102.   o  No vendor may list DizzE in advertisements, catalogs, or 
  103.      other literature which describes DizzE as "FREE SOFTWARE".  
  104.  
  105.   o  The author expressly prohibits the distribution of outdated versions 
  106.      of the DizzE package without written permission.  If the 
  107.      version you have is over twelve (12) months old, please contact the
  108.      author to ensure that you have the most current version.  
  109.  
  110.   o  Vendors shall not use, copy, rent, lease, sell, modify, decompile,
  111.      disassemble, otherwise reverse engineer, or transfer the licensed 
  112.      program except as provided in this agreement.  Any such unauthorized 
  113.      use shall result in immediate and automatic termination of this 
  114.      license.

  139.                       Brief Summary of DizzE
  140.           
  141. DizzE (The DIZ Editor) is a specialized editor for the DIZ files that most
  142. BBS's require these days.  DizzE checks for the required separator.  It
  143. performs block operations and ensures that the file is no longer than ten 
  144. lines long, the maximum allowed by most BBS's.

  150. My Little Realm's DizzE lets Shareware software developers create, change
  151. and print the FILE_ID.DIZ files that most BBS's require these days.  It
  152. allows block operations, making cutting and pasting fast and easy.  DIZ files
  153. can be printed in one of three page layouts:  standard, top center and dead
  154. center.  DizzE warns you if you try to overwrite another DIZ file.  It lets 
  155. you delete DIZ files.  It checks to be sure you have the separator in the 
  156. first three lines of text, and it also ensures that you haven't included more
  157. than the maximum ten lines of text in your files.
